Fantastic beer for day or night. Really enjoyed this beer. Full buddy with 7% but still true to the tart experience of a sour. Really good natural fruit notes too, strawberry/guava. — 4 years ago
2016 vintage. Nose has waves of ink, dark cherry, mushrooms, incense cedar and earth. Light-medium body. Pretties up on a dry but gilded tobacco, plum and spicy boysenberry finish. Brickish tannins smooth out fairly quickly. Classy and with plenty of staying power. — 5 years ago
A smooth sweet white wine. — 6 years ago
Wow. This is a small production offering from John Alban (usually 1-2 barrels at most). Mourvedre-dominated, this wine is spectacular (and very approachable for its age). Intense fruit, great balance, and a finish that goes on for nearly a minute. One of the great things about this wine - other than the wine itself - is the bottle. According to Lorraine Alban, the photo on the front shows a hat and cane that belonged to her grandfather. Better still is the font, a recreation of her grandfather’s handwriting from a letter he wrote to his future wife during The Great War. Just awesome. — 6 years ago

Paul T, Missing My Beautiful Wife 24/7
Rarely see these for sale, good juice👍🏼Juicy and tender like a love letter, the color of sunset. A true delight that isn't too heavy or too sweet. Drank excellently on a porch but could be handled at a picnic table or even, dare I say, a lake on Labor Day. — 8 years ago
friday. almost miral but missing a letter. — 4 years ago
Perfect Alsatian Gewurtz. Drinking 2013 in 2022, at its peak. Aromas of lychee, candied pinneapple, apricot, with a subtle tropical spritzyness almost evervescently revealing notes of peach and mango. Mouth feel is spot on perfect. Robustly letter the honeyed residual sugars and tasty melon citrus notes shine. This is everything I love about wine and one of my favorite grapes. — 4 years ago
Great wine! Went well with ham. — 4 years ago

A reminder that I owe Lambrusco a love letter. Usually I’m more of a di Sorbara gal, but this Grasparossa di Castelvetro has me hooked: violets, black cherry, cassis, a lot more earth than I was expecting, tart and chalky, like liquified smarties (but in a good way!) and just a hint of Welch’s grape jelly— all backed by a nice rustic tannin structure and topped with a delicate mousse. It’s a shame that Barbolini will no longer be exported to the US, though I can’t blame the Italians for wanting to keep it all for themselves. — 6 years ago
Big fav of the 2nd phase wash state Syrah (100%)... linear yet deceptively poetic… Delicate spice in floral accents are like the Gilded Age of pure BlackBerry liquor. Opened up and became even more expressive the second day. — 7 years ago
Paired very well with streak. Great Zin — 8 years ago
Killer Wine Night. Lineup of 17 wines. Tasted blind. Theme was Old World Killer “B” (the letter “B” has to be the first letter in one of the proper nouns in the wine e.g., region, varietal, type, winery name, etc.)
Wine 16. Velvety. Dark chocolate. Vanilla. Guessed a Super Tuscan. — 8 years ago
Celebration time! The hubby is OFFICIALLY full professor. Got the letter from the university prez today. So to celebrate: cava brute nature. Aroma of pear with a dash of almond.. Zesty taste of lime, green apple, seashell and chalk. A little bitter at the end but I still like it. Good on its own or would be good to make cocktails out of. — 4 years ago

This is very close to my favorite zin - 7 Deadly. Very few Lodi reds that I don't like. — 5 years ago
Good new world Chardonnay with decent amount of aging. Nice golden color at this age. White fruits, stones and that buttery creamy oaky notes carrying through to palate but very balanced with complexity and minerality coming forth in the finish. A sense of luxuriousness but not gawky and over gilded. Prime example of what California can do for this versatile grape. Easily bested the others (Nymers etc) AA 14 excellent value 495 cases. Single block within Durell Vineyard in Sonoma. — 5 years ago
Delicious juice, lychee, grapefruit, lemon / lime, guava, a little sweetness, near flavors of a super dry Riesling. — 6 years ago

A love letter to what an every day drinking Alto Piemonte red can be — feather light, high toned, floral, spiced (star anise), earthy and fragrant. All the pomegranates. Finished the trip where we started. — 3 years ago
