Great structure, nice body, chewy, with verve. Earthy and savory, baked clay, underbrush, smoke and menthol. Just a tad austere. More generous fruit would have elevated this.
It hit another level on day 2, with the flavors crystallizing and more dried fruit, coffee, and milk chocolate coming on. Complex, food friendly and delish! — 4 years ago
This Chilean Pinot Noir offers a nose that is heavy with cola, black tea and coffee grounds. The savory aromas actually outweigh the fruit. It is a medium-weight wine, not very deeply tinted, and it rides light on the palate. The acidity is brisk and the tannins firm. This is not a Burgundian take on the grape, for certain. It is more playful than elegant, more rustic than beautiful.

Dusty on the outside but pristine on the inside. I’ve tasted this a handful of times over the last 15 years and it’s developing at a glacier-like pace. Still bright in colour and long and structured with red and blue fruits foiled by herbs and some stemmy notes. Classic Allemand and my favourite of the ‘90s along with ‘94 & ‘99 - 1995 — 6 years ago

Rose petals and lemon. A great memorial cap to our drive on Going to the Sun Road! #roadtripwine — 7 years ago
Lovely crushed berries make up the nose, like a jam making factory at first pressing.
Fruit leather black raspberry, Ouzo like anise, grit from the cherry pit, blanched plum.
Ending in tonsil smacking cedar stave,
Love the push for Cab franc in the fertile glacier hewn soils of South America. — 7 years ago
Nose of tart fruit and spice which shows up in the palate as well. Silky tannins that take a little time to build up. Easy to drink for a medium bodied red. It's holding up well to hearty spicy chilli, and the spice of the food is letting the fruit show more through the spice notes of the wine. Curious to see how it develops when I have some tomorrow. — 8 months ago
Spice cake. Vanilla. Glacier cherry. — 4 years ago
Fruit filled glacier water with depth and a mineral finish. Pretty long for an ‘instappertje’ — 5 years ago
— 6 years ago

Paul T, Missing My Beautiful Wife 24/7
In English though, otherwise I’m lost 🤷🏼♂️A big and rich lager, toasted barley beer.
BREWER'S NOTE:
This richly styled lager is perhaps far from a traditional Doppel Bock due to the use ofwine barrels during aging, Calistoga Well Water as well as our use of Glacier hops. A 5 week 55 F fermentation yielded a crisp and malty driven beer with mild hop notes. Lot 15040727 was aged in freshly emptied first use Petite Verdot French oak barrel from 2012 where it aged for another two months. The aromas are very bold and bright showcasing the impacts of the barrel while the power of this 9.1% Alc. v/v lager pushes back both with flavor and palate texture. These beers are Membership only releases. Lot 16040693 was aged in a French Oak puncheon for 3 months and has an alcohol by volume of 7.8% v/v. Our upcoming release Lot 170613150 spent 5 months in a relatively new French Oak barrel and with an alcohol of 8.6% v/v is more of an Eisbock in style, although probably our best effort to date with wonderful malt tones integrated with oak spice as well. — 6 years ago
A surprising wine - more the color of Pinot Noir than a classic cab Franc but so aromatic and elegant. Medium ruby, gorgeous nose of violet, leather, black olive, forest floor and blackberry.
Medium plus acidity, very long finish — 7 years ago

#1 of Jura Savoie evening
40/40/20 blend of Chardonnay / Jacquard and Mondeuse Blanc
Clear & pure as a alpin glacier.
Shy herbs, salty notes and faint whiff of underripe lemon.
On the palate this is crisp, lean and so juicy. Great purity and minerality. So devoid of fruit and yet with a lot of character. This is surprisingly nice and highly drinkable. — 4 years ago
