Age showing in the color with a dulling rim, but the ruby red was in there. Red fruit and earthy aromas, currant flavors (the tart red fruit of a cherry, but not as fruity), a good amount of acid and some soft tannins. Currant component tasting (in the wild!). — 4 years ago
The epitome of fresh- lemon and lime, lime peel, green apple. It dances bright and on the palate in an angular fashion with the same intense flavors that trail. Slightly bitter finish. Overall good quality. Ecocert organic certified. — 4 years ago
Loads of petrol, liquid mineral, and apple skin fruit on the nose. Still quite fresh (fresher than a bottle I had several years ago, as I recall). Rich, with tons of dry extract, in the mouth. Deeply mineral, dense, slightly bitter-edged apple fruit. Almost overwhelming. But in a good way. Great wine. — 7 months ago

Whites and reds from our recent Confrerie Saint Etienne dinner. I was fortunate to take home the last bottle, and I’m glad we have a few extras to keep hidden in the CSE cellar for a few years to see how they age.
This was paired alongside a Gustave Lorentz Gewurtztraminer Reserve, with the food being Lemon Sole. Wonderful pairing. Hardly any whiff of petrol here…more tropical than anything (guava, green pineapple), lemon and limestone. On the palate, this is one of the more commanding and deeply rich Alsatian Riesling’s I’ve had in a while. It’s nervy down the mid-palate, but really fleshed out on the sides…big time balance. Mineral streak, and total Alsatian vibe to it, but all dialed up to 11 (in a good way). Even over the course of dinner, this improved. Still on the upswing. — 3 years ago

Beautiful color, fine bubbles, fine mousse, but there’s this kind of weird oaky or brioche toasty Aroma that I don’t really like so it’s either barrels that were too toasted or too much lees battonnage and distracts from the wine and makes you realize it’s not a champagne. other than that pretty tasty — 21 days ago
