Heros Vin de France Syrah

Costco Advent Day 7. So powerfully dry, it’s almost too much but not for me. I loved the dry, earthy flavor! This is by far my favorite of the advent wines so far. I would definitely buy this wine again! Bold and plum forward - and 14.5 % to boot! — 4 years ago

Bonofiglio Vineyard "Unsung Hero" Viognier Blend 2019

Unsung hero is a play on texture over aroma with a toolkit of aromatic whites and so for me it’s not putting it’s best foot forward. It’s good but I like the smells. Muted soft peach and lime zest. — 4 years ago

Hartenberg

Stellenbosch Shiraz 2015

Opaque and concentrated. Savory and meaty with dark raspberry and blackberry fruit as well as licorice and spice.

Perfect tannin for beef bourguignon, watching the bizarre Local Hero. Sadly my last bottle of this, should drink well for many more years.

This Kabinett is really an unsung hero in Riesling. Versatile, endlessly drinkable, and affordable. My favorite of the Stein offerings. — 4 years ago

Yarra Yering Vineyard Pinot Noir 2005

Exquisite. Somm gave us his last bottle of 2005, instead of 2017 on menu. He’s my hero. — 4 years ago

Nobody's Hero Marlborough Pinot Noir 2018

Red jello in color. Starts off with a smooth bright berry infusion before it stings slightly in a radikal way just like the philosophy behind the wine is. Finishes off with a smooth long aftertaste with a vanilla zest. — 5 years ago
