Had this at chef Avillez’s Bairro in Lisbon’s Chiado neighborhood. First time trying a Dao DOC wine, and it was splendid. Medium bodied, dark fruit and peppery. A nice contrast to the lighter vino verde’s I’ve had a lot of in Portugal. A bottle of this in front of me would be dangerous. — 2 years ago
Ew and used oak. Veel sap in de geur. Open. Dao can age very well. Graniet, heel geparfumeerd. Als hij een tijdje openstaat wordt hij nog hartiger. — a month ago
@Delectable Wine this is the Vinha Senna white blend.
Blend of Bical & Encruzado
Nicely aromatic, with a round, yellow stone fruit profile. Plus a pinch of dried herbs, some sea salt. Rounded yet quite savoury. And fresh.
Beautiful mouthfeel - medium body, a hint of creaminess, a slightly savoury, tannic touch to the purity of yellow fruit. And, in the long finish, the salty minerality shines through.
This has very nice depth & tension.

When I saw 2006 on the wine list, I thought it was a misprint... — 2 years ago
Great stuff. Rando purchase in Aveiro — 3 years ago
Interesting blend, not as heavy as Touriga, so easier to drink. Liked it with roast lamb. — a year ago
Media Serra Dao Jaen 2018

Medium-deep ruby color.
Aromas of stewed strawberry, raspberry, clove.
Dry. Flavors of fresh raspberry, cinnamon, soft clove, tart strawberry finish. Lovely!

Tom Casagrande
Color is more youthful than one would expect from a wine of 14 years. Earthy and mushroomy on the nose. More youthful and still quite a bit of fruit in the mouth. Nice acids. Tannins quite soft. — 4 days ago
