2019. Beautiful light yellow color. Light earthy aroma. Smooth and silky mouth feel. Mild tartness with pear and apricot flavors. — 2 years ago
A little dry, plummy. Good. — 4 years ago
Beautiful blend of the best of Languedoc whites. 42% Roussanne, 40% Grenache Blanc, 15% Clairette & 5% Viognier. Estate bottled from grapes apparently grown on the 32 hectares of historic vineyards where multiple Roman legions were stationed to protect the vineyards of this region… for god reason. An Eric Solomon selection so it has been selected by someone with the ability to source great wines! Wonderful floral components with light minerality and mildly acid combined with a slight taste of residual sweetness from the fruit forward grapes typical@of the region to give this refreshing wine a perfect balance! — 4 months ago

Enjoyed this wine. A bit jammy and I’d say a medium to full body, but not a full full body. — 3 years ago
It’s always a resounding ‘YES’ for JL Chave!!
That includes this luscious and concentrated Syrah from Saint-Joseph AOC in the Northern Rhône of France.
Domaine Jean-Louis Chave is a benchmark and icon of the Rhône Valley – a family-run operation since 1481 – with an entire range of deliciousness through the Domaine Jean-Louis Chave and JL Chave Selection portfolios.
This wine is deep ruby, trending on purple. It has pronounced aromas and flavors of boysenberry, blueberry, black cherry, cassis, pomegranate, also violet, bacon, sanguine, saddle leather, pipe tobacco, clove, cigar, damp earth, and black peppercorn. Alcohol is high (14.5% ABV) with medium (+) fine-grained and well-integrated tannins, medium (+) acidity, a medium (+) body, and a long, elegant finish.
It has a rustic and savory character with robust dark fruit notes; it’s layered, complex, structured, and age-worthy, benefitting from decanting. Still, it’s tasting wonderfully now.
Cheers to JL Chave and treasures of the Rhône!! — 7 months ago
Popped and poured after the Gonet-Medeville BdN 1er. This is also mostly Pinot Noir however with 20% Chardonnay. Comparatively, this pours a more pale color, again with a persistent mousse. Aromas of white flowers (specifically citrus blossom), white peach, and ever so lightly toasted brioche. On the palate, white peach, pink lady apple, lemon and minerals. Good acid. Long finish. Lovely texture. This came across as a noticeably more rich, refined, and elegant Champagne and it made a beautiful pairing with my selection of Mussels Dijonnaise. Disgorged August 21, 2018

Peter van den Besselaar
Vintage 2014 | Amazing wine, from 50 Merlot 25 Cabernet Sauvignon and 25 Cabernet Franc. Italian rooftiles colour, clearly evolution. A wonderful bouquet, vanilla and tobacco but above all: finesse! Private label from Jean Berger in Roermond - one of a few Dutch winesellers that has the knowledge of raising wine to perfection and bottle in Holland. Paired with a selection of cheeses like Gruyère and parmigiana and some rillettes. — 3 months ago
