Mia Peake Ranch Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2021

Reddish in color with light intensity.

Fruity nose of cherries, raspberries, spices, light oak and chocolate notes.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with red bing cherries, currants, raspberries, sweet strawberries, spices, red candy, light wood, chocolates, sweet tobacco, light herbs and black pepper.

Nice length on the finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Pinot Noir from Santa Rita Hills in California. Easy drinking and engaging. Elegant and fruit forward.

Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel, and feels like a California Pinot with a touch of Burgundy.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.

Pinot Noir grapes were aged for 9 months in French oak barrels. A small production of only 8 barrels.

14.1% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

La Strada California Red Blend

So nice and soft with a very sentimental dinner I had alone except for my memories. Went easily with my late husband’s mother’s recipe for “gravy” with meatballs and sausage and my own homemade Italian bread still warm from the oven. — 4 years ago

Actually enjoyed this despite it being moscato. Wasn’t too sweet. Full bodied, apple. Would have again. — 2 years ago

Les Plantenays Rully Chardonnay

9.5

Best QPR Bourgogne Chardonnay out there. On par with Meursault but with a drier finish. Oak, buttery palate with exotic fruits and citric nose. Hazelnut, lemon peel, dry pineapple, hay and “farm” scent at first, then vanilla, dates, and butter kick in. — 9 months ago
