Le P'tit Victor

Château de Pibarnon (Comte de Saint Victor)

Les Restanques De Pibarnon Bandol Mourvedre 2020

Dark ruby in color with medium intensity.

Red fruits on the nose with tobacco and chocolate notes.

Dry on the palate with red and black fruits, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco leaf and herbs.

Nice finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.

This is a very tasty Mourvedre based blend from Bandol. Rich and elegant, fruity and interesting. Complex and well balanced.

Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.

A blend of 70% Mourvedre and 30% Grenache, from 30 year old vines. Aged in large French oak barrels for 18 months. Unfiltered and unfined.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

Nuances Comte de Saint Victor Bandol Mourvedre Rosé 2021

Salmon in color.

Fresh nose with red berries, and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with red fruits, citrus, earth, spices, apples and minerals.

This Single Vineyard Rosé is elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and interesting. Fruit forward with enough earth notes to compliment it.

Still very young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

A good sipping wine that will pair nicely with food too.

A blend of 95% Mourvedre with 5% Clairette. Aged in concrete vats for 9 months.

14% alcohol by volume.

Thanks! I opened the Tempier 2019 recently and it seemed still quite young. Will open a Pibarnon soon to see where it is at currenltly. I understood that 2019 was a quite structured vintage

P'tit Max Morgon Gamay 2018

Very nice Beaujolais. Was quite curious how this would present given the wide variety of opinions on this wine. Aromatically quite beautiful - delicate flowers, lighter red fruit. Palate follows through nicely. Restrained at this point, and the 14% doesn’t present in any negative way. Long finish with great earthy tannins and good acid. Perfect cold night pairing with a rotisserie chicken. — 7 months ago

It’s been my experience that these need a lot of time to really show their best. I have never tried the 2018 vintage though.
