+1 hour decant(some fine/chunky sediment). A captivating dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: mellow notes of cherry, tobacco, menthol, wet forest floor. Taste: cherry, herbal, leather, bitter chocolate and a spiced graphite w/some slightly astringent tannin medium plus finish. — 9 months ago
Decant for sediment and pour(decent chunky/fine sediment). A remarkable dark purplish magenta with some bricking. On the nose: some plum, currants, herbaceous, baking spice, touch of tobacco and milk chocolate. Taste: creamy, balanced, savory wine with currants, tobacco, green bell pepper, spiced dark cherry, clove. YUM! — a year ago
I pulled this from the cellar on Father’s Day; toasting the year I became a dad. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2006 pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core and a magenta rim; medium+ viscosity with faint staining of the tears and lots of fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of tart dark fruits: brambles, montmornecy cherries, tobacco, dry earth, and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and zippy with tongue smacking acid. The 2006 Rafanelli Zinfandel is in a seriously great spot right now and well stored examples should hold in this position easily through the rest of this decade. Great with pizza. Drink now through 2031+. — 6 months ago
A murky purple magenta color, but still appears young. Very aromatic with beautiful notes of blackberry, perfume followed by sandalwood, wet rich soil, pencil lead and sweet oak. Tastes young with tannins still present leaving many years for aging. Primary flavors of blackberry cedar and bitter sweet chocolate with secondary notes of cassis, new leather, pepper, dried herbs, and gravel giving it a long dry finish. Should pair with our Neapolitan marinara pizza and pasta dinner tonight. Looking forward to see what another several years will add to its flavor profile. — a year ago
1 hour decant(lots of chunky/fine sediment). A majestic dark magenta color with a little bricking. On the nose: stewed plums, some blue fruit, herbaceous, eucalyptus, and worn leather. Taste: silky smooth, rich, layered wine with dark cherry, blackberry, chocolate espresso, herbs, tar, and a spicy licorice long finish. YUM! — 4 months ago
The color is deep purple magenta with signs of some bricking on the edges. Nose - a bit restricted with notes of brambly red berries, herbs, wet soil and graphite followed by floral scents. Taste - juicy, silky and soft. Well structured and layered. Red -plum and dark chocolate dominate with secondary notes of cedar, dry herbs, spice and espresso giving this wine a long soft finish. Luv it! — a year ago
Soft magenta color.
Classic aromas immediately. Structured tannins of loam, grassy florals on the nose.
Medium to full-bodied with structure and a medium-long finish.
Really excellent, especially for the price. I believe 2018 was a great year for many varietals. — a year ago

1 hour decant(decent chunky/fine sediment). A striking still dark purplish magenta with some bricking. On the nose: beautiful perfumed notes of dark fruit, spearment, stewed meat, worn leather, smokey earth. Taste: smooth, creamy, balanced, silky wine with some black raspberry, earth, mocha, metallic, and a long licorice black tea finish. YUM! Past it's peak for any fruit fans, but still some time with the tertiary/secondary flavors. — a month ago
