Crisp, delicious, salty fiano. — 11 days ago
Opened and decanted 2.5 hours in advance of our inaugural Aglianco Osso Buco wine dinner here at the Gotham
Facing off against a range of Aglianco from Unti in Sonoma, Leonetti in WA and Galardi 2007 in Campania
The 2010 Galardi was the most dense and as with the 2007, the fruit was minimal. Instead the flavor profile is herbs, green olives and incredible savory notes. It worked incredibly well with the osso buco and needed the richness to shine. This wine still had a bit of hard edges and could use more bottle age IMO — 2 months ago
Dark ruby/purple color with a slight garnet rim. Aromas of ripe black berry/currant fruit, ash, smoke and leather. Sour red and black cherry fruit on the palate with additional notes of figs, black olives, woody herbs and black pepper spice. Nice hint of charred oak on the medium-plus finish. Well balanced and powerful. Better as it opened up so give this wine a decant. Solid QPR. — 4 days ago
2020 Vintage. Surprised that this had a good amount of acidity which made it a great match with food. Loved it. — a month ago
Floral, herbal, minerality, long finish — 2 days ago
Really good. Needs a few hours of air. I’m guessing will be better in 5 years. Cherries, tobacco, strawberry jolly rancher, earth, a bit of evergreen. — a month ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Golden lemon color with aromas of tropical and stone fruits with toasty nutty notes. On the palate flavors of melon, apple and pear with sweet citrus and raisin notes. Medium+ length, balanced lively acidity, ending with sweet fruit and nutty mineral character. — 7 days ago
