Bottle reads beautifully deep in hues, it leads complex notions of boysenberry and pomegranate preserves over suggestions of violets and sage. I would have never been able to write this description without cheating — 2 years ago
RP95Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A barrel sample, the deep garnet-purple colored 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Tierra Roja Vineyard comes bounding out of the glass with notions of ripe red plums, Morello cherries and blackcurrant pastilles with hints of pencil shavings, violets and camphor. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with “Juicy red and black fruits, supported by firm, grainy tannins and background”. I can’t say it better than Parker! I always love Wine from Tor - Great vineyard source. — 2 years ago
“Ana’s-Cëtta” is the white #Nascetta wine by @elviocogno who helped bring the variety back from near extinction in the 1990s in the commune of Novello, #Langhe, #Piedmont.
The 2022 delivers aromas of honeysuckle, white peach, verbena and Mediterranean herbs. Apple, pear, quince and pineapple flavors then come into play. This quickly followed by a waxy texture, balanced by lime zest, with notions of crushed minerals on the finish.
The winery suggests it is “ideal as an accompaniment to vegetable dishes, white meats, raw fish, oysters and creamy cheeses.” Maybe not as ideal, but paired with rigatoni, sausage and fennel allowed some contrast to expose and heighten many of the sensations…BRAVO! — 10 months ago
Deep ruby with inky saturation, the 2020 Ornellaia is sublime. Mingling precise aromas of wild blueberries, black cherries, blackcurrant, violets, crushed rocks and cigar box with notions of clove, mint and iodine. Full-bodied yet spherical in the mouth, this Tuscan beauty shows excellent flavour concentration, fresh acidity and pixelated, polished tannins, providing a firm structure. Drink from 2028 until 2050. — 2 years ago
Agree with the expert LBP of Wine Advocate. She wrote: "Deep garnet in color, the 2010 Rauzan-Ségla is youthfully reticent and closed to begin, slowly unfurling to offer notions of underbrush, black truffles, smoked meats and tar over a core of baked black cherries, prunes and crème de cassis plus touches of iron ore and crushed rocks. Full-bodied, concentrated and jam-packed with savory/earthy fruit, it has a rock-solid structure of firm, grainy tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing with great length and expression. The blend this year is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot,." Thank Lisa BP . We look forward to your next chapter, post WA — 3 years ago
With 120 g/L of residual sweetness, the 2018 Gewurztraminer Fronholz Vendanges Tardives opens with notions of blossom honey, Damask rose and juicy lychee. The mouthfeel is luscious, round and brimming with sweet yellow peach compote. The rose perfume pervades everything with its floral intensity. This is a dessert in itself, concentrated less by botrytis than by passerillage, preserving the varietal integrity and a super-charged purity of fruit. This needs careful pairing but will outlast us all. (Anne Krebiehl, Vinous, April 2023) — 2 years ago
Such an underrated vintage both red and white. Raveneau‘s 2013 Valmur is electric from the first pour wafting killer yellow fruit intensity, white chocolate, white flowers, notions of sea breeze and a little botrytis influenced saffron. The palate is deep, waxy and rich with balanced zippy citrusy acids and a crushed oyster shell minerality that gives way to a considerably long, focused and lifted finish. Fantastic bottle. — 3 years ago
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Canon bursts from the glass with expressive notions of baked black cherries, kirsch, plum preserves and black raspberries plus hints of red roses, Ceylon tea, black olives and fertile loam. Medium-bodied, the palate is wonderfully elegant and refined, with a soft, finely grained texture and seamless freshness, finishing long and mineral laced. The blend is 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc and it was aged for 18 months in French oak, 50% new. — 3 years ago

The 2021 Soave Classico Monte Carbonare is decidedly savory, displaying notes of crushed rocks and dried flowers that give way to white peach and hints of gingery spice. It sweeps across the palate with a silky, textural wave of liquid florals and ripe pit-fruits, riding along a core of vibrant acidity. Notions of candied lime and saline minerals linger through the long and youthfully tense finale as the 2021 leaves a confectionary air of spice. (Eric Guido, Vinous, February 2024)
