Tasted double-blind. The 2018 Lucien Crochet pours a very pale straw color. On the nose, almost imperceptible pyrazines. Instead, the smell of an ocean breeze with a touch of cheesy funk that I find rather attractive. On the palate, there is an undeniable freshness to this wine that is really compelling. Citrus fruits with white pepper. Medium-plus acid. Satisfying finish. Very good! — 4 years ago
White flowers, crushed seashells, sea breeze, and lemon. Slaying. — 5 years ago
Nice regal gold hue. Amazing pit fruit and wet stone nose. Plus notes of apricot, white clay soil, salty ocean breeze and some Raveneau honey on the finish. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Coats the palate with lots of fruit and fine grained acidity. I’ve had this a few times and this was at its best. Great Raveneau at age 30 is an amazing treat. — 5 years ago
Nice young yellow canary color. Heavy in the glass. Tropical nose with notes of sea breeze, lemon, kiwi, white stones and tan spice. Glycerol and rich in the mouth. California like, but with nice Chablis nuances. I wonder how this will evolve over next 10 years. Maybe like 92’s? — 2 years ago
Opened yesterday, in the fridge overnight. Was supposed to pair with an artichoke pasta yesterday, but got distracted by some pretty spectacular champagne. On the nose: lemon, lime, sea breeze, soft tarragon. On the palate: good acidity, lovely minerality, sea salt, lime, a touch of oiliness and good density, with a mineral yet, richly tinged finish. Excellent. — 4 years ago
Sweet, but not overbearing. Fizzy and tasty. — 5 years ago
Tasted blind. Light gold color. Has a nose that immediately takes me to Chablis. Notes of honey, citrus, wet river stone, ocean breeze, tan spice and white chalky soil. Perfectly balanced in the mouth with lots of fruit and acidity. Screams Raveneau. I guess 2000 Raveneau Valmur. Had this side by side with the 2000 Fevre Clos… the 2000 Raveneau Butteaux had 4 hours of air in the decanter, the 2000 Fevre Clos only 30 min… it clearly showed (1) why you age Chablis and (2) why you give them hours of air to open before consumption. The Raveneau was outstanding and the Fevre didn’t have time to show its expression. — 4 years ago
This is a perfect lightly sweet wine with out being dry. It pairs well with salted dark chocolate. — 4 years ago
Slight dry and slight sweet. Full body. Good grape flavor. A fav. Should have bought 2. — 5 years ago
