Picked this up a few months ago from the state store when I saw Louis Dressner. Seems different from the only other fleurie I’ve had. Lots of earth juice with raspberry. — 4 years ago

Named after the ancestor that originally bought the parcel, the 2021 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru Hommage à Louis has an intense bouquet with praline and white chocolate touches infusing the vibrant citrus fruit. The palate is very well-balanced, with a powerful opening. It's spicy like the Les Preuses, though many without quite the same ambition on the finish. But this is still very impressive. This wine glows salmon pink in the glass, and smells of fresh, ripe strawberries and cherries. On the palate the strawberry takes the lead, while a note of stone fruit slips into the arena. There is a fairly zippy acidity to go along with the flavors. It’s Beaujolais, but bears a striking resemblance to Provençe.

Winemaker Paul Bridgeman is very fond of the Rhone varieties.
He used to work at Chave and meny other big names from that oart of the world.
The barrels in their cellar, wjere they age the wines have names...Jean Louis, Thierry, Alain and so on..
This wine was a long time dream for him and you can tell there is a lot of care and love in it.
For the price this is a steal 2021 released now.
Far from the Nagambie Lakes marsanne wines. More in the European style.
