Réserve Brut Champagne Blend

David T
9.0

It has been sometime since I have had this white label. Nice pair with Apple Tart from the Adorable French Bakery.

The nose is; bruised apple, touch of apple cider, yellow bruised pear, lime zest, lemon juice, orange citrus with zest, tropical melons, white cream froth, brioche, white spring flowers.

The palate is fresh, ripe, juicy; bruised apple, touch of apple cider, yellow bruised pear, lime zest, lemon juice & tropical melons. Gingerale, caramel notes, honeycomb, understated white spice, sea fossils & spray, white cream, delicate chalkiness, limestone marl, almond slivers, field of white, spring flowers with both lilies, crisp, fresh, lively acidity and nicely made, well balanced finish that lasts 90 seconds.

Chateau Pape Clément Grand Cru Classé de Graves Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Perfectly ripe black and red fruit. Grippy tannins, but still gives a nice mouthfeel. Not a lot of complexity. Great wine that has a lot of life left. Really enjoyable but hard to see how RP gave it a 100. — 3 months ago

Brut Rosé Champagne Blend 2018

2018 vintage. Fresh with excellent body and a wild, herbaceous woodsiness. Decidedly different, yet appreciated as such. The 2015 is Rembrandt. This 2018 is Picasso. 4.20.24. — 5 months ago

Révélation Vin de Pays d'Oc Chardonnay 2022

This wine has a lovely golden tint. Aromas of apricot, apple, pear and a very light citrus note appear in the nose. The flavors are fairly remarkable, especially for a $7 wine. Tropical notes, peach, pear and lemon-lime come forward, along with a hint of sweet oak. The acidity is zippy enough to carry a salad, seafood dish or light pasta meal. The wine finishes long and full. It is definitely a bargain wine, one reminiscent of old-line Chardonnay. — 4 months ago
