Morgeot Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

Medium lemon yellow colour . Quite rich and ripe on the nose with buttered popcorn , lemon oil , toasty hints and some honeysuckle and peach . On the palate this is also quite rich , with lemon peel , apricot and but balanced by good acidity and a quite saline mineral , seashell tinged finish . Drinking well now and over the next 5-8 years. From a half bottle . — 2 months ago

Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay 2009

Really great shape. Still somewhat youthful & fresh. Full bodied but very elegant. Flavors were fairly classic apple & citrus. Paid $50 way back when — a month ago

A very fresh bottle of this wine. Rich and weighty, with tart quince, nougat, and smoked hay aroma. Subtle and highly nuanced. — 6 months ago

Les Ruchottes Chassagne-Montrachet Chardonnay 2015

The vintage for white burgundy has really focused up since release, far more incisive, balanced and better showcasing terroir. Such is the case for 15 Ruchottes, one of the best plots in Chassagne, often of Grand Cru quality. It’s still showing young, but plenty giving, immensely concentrated, ample and rich with all the Ramonet goodies- white orchard fruit, white flowers, vanilla bean, macadamia nut and the signature spearmint freshness. A spine of racy acids and layered minerality provides the perfect balance to its richness. Beautiful wine, with (seemingly) many years to go. — 10 months ago

Sur Le Sentier Du Clou Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2014

2014 vintage. Old-school dynamite. Chalk dust for days and mouth-puckering dryness. No evidence of global warming in this particular go about. Medium body. Has at least another 7-8 years in this personality but possibly double that. Intriguing. 8.23.24. — 5 months ago
