Rich with some sweetness. Very good. Price about ¥12,000. — a day ago
Solid red blend. But sold as full bodied, which it is not. Light drinking. Suitably dry. — 14 days ago
A big wine! Four hour decant was just right for this 1998 edition! — 4 days ago
Bordeaux style blend of Merlot (64%), Cabernet Sauvignon (17%), Cabernet Franc (10%) and Petite Verdot (9%). Dark ruby/purple color with a garnet rim. Aromas of dark berry fruit, graphite and dusty earth. Flavors of blackberry, black cherry, ripe plums, kirsch, black licorice and iron. Full bodied, long finish and intensely structured. Beautifully integrated acidity and tannins. Great combination of power and elegance. — 18 days ago
2022 vintage. Durty dirty intro nose. Medium body. Grippy with little hedonism. Very businesslike. Should age effortlessly for a solid 20-spot. Woulda picked it up but surprisingly good in the Italian section in that price range. It's in the notes tho...do occasionally recall/pluck sin on sin a wine from time to time and commit. Could see this easily rolling into 9.5 territory within the next decade. 04.02.25. — 16 days ago
Sleeper hit #toscanaigt - typical #sangiovese dark fruit + spicy forest floor character all wrapped up in a high-QPR package. #traderjoes — 14 days ago
2011 was ready to go. First montefalco I’ve had that feels ready - huge nose and smooth delivery — 2 hours ago

At an Italian Restaurant on the Gold Coast having a nice pasta dish of Rigatoni with Lamb Shoulder. This wine by San Guido where their top Cuvée is the famous Sassicaia. This wine is 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Oak maturation is well balanced using a combination of new and used oak. The nose shows obvious Cabernet traits and shows again how suitable Bolgheri is to Bordeaux blends - plummy notes. A good match with the dish. A dry finish. — 4 days ago
