Very smooth and enjoyable. Really enjoying this Merlot. — 4 months ago
Excellent! When opened I felt tannins. After a half our turned to a beautiful wine! — a month ago
August 28th is National Red Wine day...popped this to celebrate
1 hour decant (decent chunky/fine sediment). A striking inky dark purplish magenta color with some bricking. On the nose: Enticing perfumed notes of red fruit, forest floor, smoked meat, menthol, and mocha. Taste: A velvety, plush wine with dark cherry/plum, currants, dusty earth, white pepper, graphite, and a long lingering dark chocolate espresso finish. YUM! In a great place with time to go. — a month ago
Not what I was hoping for,
Gave it some air but not too much so that we didn’t lose the sweet spot. Didn’t touch the Shafer until this was finished. Just a typical older Bordeaux blend from Napa but very ordinary considering the price point. Secondary market purchase so who knows prior storage. — 3 years ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Lemon gold color with aromas of stone and tropical fruits with citrus, sweet floral and complex spice, no MLF. On the palate flavors of ripe melon, pineapple, apricot and honeysuckle notes with lemon zest and biscuit notes, delicate, complex and well balanced, big and full Chardonnay. Long finish, savory, ending with mineral tones and fresh finish. Will age well. Outstanding! While I usually do not decant whites, this one will benefit to breathe a bit! — a month ago
