Should have waited to open this one. Seems a bit high on the alcohol. Eating at Murano Restaurant on Celebrity Solstice in route to Sidney. Just left Melbourne but will be back next week to visit the local wineries. — 7 years ago
First night of our Celebrity Solstice cruise from Auckland, New Zealand to Sydney, Australia. Ate in the Tuscan Grille, a pay extra dining experience. The wine was much better than the food. — 7 years ago
Tonight is the winter solstice, the longest night of the year and the weekend before Christmas. I have opened the 2013 Andrew Will Two Blondes Vineyard Yakima Valley Bordeaux Blend. 44% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose is a stunningly juicy dark fruit of blackberry, black cherry, black currant, milk chocolate, violet, vanilla, cigar box and dark rock earth.
The palate reveals lack cherry, raspberry, plum, green bell pepper, black pepper, red currant, violet, graphite and some earth notes.
This wine is what I have come to expect from the Andrew Will Winery and Chris Camarda. This is a full bodied wine with a polished texture that is well balanced. There is medium + acidity and medium + fine tannins that lead to a long clean fresh finish. Another outstanding wine from Andrew Will. Have a wonderful weekend leading into Christmas please be safe and enjoy family and friends. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 8 years ago

Loved this Malbec! Delicious, smooth, bold! — 4 years ago

Txakolina rosé tasting on the 2020 Summer Solstice, perfect for a hot/humid day in the Berkshires. Last bottle from our cellar. — 6 years ago
Wonderful deal, love this bottle. — 7 years ago
Took Joy’s suggestion and celebrated the Winter Solstice and full moon with the 2014 Winter’s Cuvée. What a wonderful idea! And the restaurant waived the corkage because we brought a white chocolate ginger cheesecake for the staff to enjoy. Life is good. — 8 years ago
Celebrating summer solstice with a delicious Verdejo. The winemaker suggest notes of grapefruit and lime but I’m really getting baked pineapple and tropical notes. Golden green gold colour, perfectly balanced acidity with a notably assertive and lasting palate for a Verdejo. I really enjoyed this wine. — 8 years ago
Very good GSM blend. Bought additional bottles. Top 10 2017 tasting at NCWC. Re-Tasting 12/26/17 - fantastic. Taking the unusual step of upping by two points to 92. Re-affirmed 6/21/18. Summer solstice calls for this delicious wine. — 9 years ago
One of the best BC Pinot’s ever! — 7 years ago

Have a whole case of Janasse and it keeps tasting better and better with spicy heat and feel of skins still in the wine. Paired with filet mignon strips & mushroom for winter solstice — 8 years ago

Dark as solstice night. Aroma is lovely. Cranberry and pine needles. Flavors are European. Chaparral plants. Bright finish. Lacks the funk, but it’s still lovely Syrah. — 6 months ago
