2018 vintage. 100% syrah. Willow Creek District. Paderewski Vineyard. Heavy body. Multi-faceted nose. Price has crept up substantially so it is no longer a QPR/bang for the buck darling but is still rocking at full volume. Sometimes, you gotta drop the coin for the concert. 5.29.24. — a month ago
Perfectly nuanced red at the best price! ($15). Perfect for a meal or drinking alone. — a month ago
Cherry, Raspberry, strawberry aromas with a touch of sage. Red cherries on the palate with a medium tannins. I think will benefit from a bit more cellar time. — a month ago
The 2012 Opus One is a terrific choice for drinking now. Silky and beautifully perfumed, the 2012 is wonderfully open-knit in this tasting. The purity of the fruit is alluring, There's still a good bit of freshness, too. Naturally, the 2012 reflects the medium-bodied style that is typical of the year, but all the elements are very nicely balanced. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, rose petal, spice and blood orange linger. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, May 2024)

Crafted by Joseph J. Wagner, 4th generation winemaker, with winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas, tea and sweet spice notes. On the palate flavors of jammy blackberry and cherry with pronounced sweet vanilla oak, cacao and pepper spice notes. Soft tannins and bright acidity, well balanced, with mineral tones on a long finish ending with toasty spice! Nice! — 23 days ago
Nice for a steak dinner at a restaurant for a reasonable price. Pop and pour Zinfandel blend. Deep color, fruit and spice aroma. Palate is heavily red Zinfandel with dark berries, plum, and spice - pepper with a hint of nutmeg and vanilla. Balanced tannins and acidity. Short but pleasant finish. — a month ago

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Inky in color with a reddish rim.
Strong nose of black fruits with chocolate notes, cedar, vanilla, tobacco, Indian spices and licorice.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, licorice, vanilla, chocolates, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, coffee, cola and herbs.
Long spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This is another terrific wine from the problematic 2020 vintage in Napa Valley. Nicely balanced, complex and smooth. Elegant with a great mouthfeel.
Rich, extracted and in your face kind of wine. The nose is really gorgeous at this point.
Drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes in the decanter. Good by itself as a sipping wine.
A blend of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot. Organic.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
