Did not know Stagecoach also grows Syrah until I saw this bottle. Turns out quite a few reputable wineries such as Venge and B Cellars also make Syrah from Thai famed vineyard.
Still quite primary with scrumptious mix of black and blue fruits. Very good depth and concentration. Balanced acidity. Full and silky smooth.
The winery’s Bien Nacido Syrah is also very good, but this seems to be a slightly better. Would be fun to do a side-by-side. — 9 months ago
Wherever it comes from, MacLaren Syrah is always delightful. — 18 days ago
Super tannic and long finish. Dark color, so much oak it has to be decanted — 8 months ago
It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Nice nose of chocolates, cedar, licorice, spices and peppercorn.
Dry and fruit forward on the palate with nice complexity. Full-bodied with medium acidity.
Showing red and black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, tobacco, spices, peppercorn, coffee, light cola and chocolates.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This 9 year old Merlot is drinking beautifully now, and the great 2014 vintage is showing very well.
Feels like a Right Bank Bordeaux right out of the bottle, but after 3 hours of airtime it feels like a Napa Cabernet.
This Single Vineyard is showing nice complexity with nice balance, and will continue to age nicely in the 10 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
93 points.

Right in its prime. I will wait until the next is 10 years from vintage just out of principle. — 9 months ago

2014 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 45 mins. Medium body. Repping Stagecoach Vineyard right with some trail dust, cedar, ripe dark cherry and tobacco for punch. A really pleasant, subtle richness with the initial draw/flavors that deposited on the front palate. Nicely made, nicely done. Not a candidate for a Napa time capsule 30 years from now but tasted like it'll be showing well for the next 7-8 years. 05.09.25. — 23 days ago
