Château Lilian Ladouys

Saint Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

The vines of Lilian-Ladouys are found a stone's throw from the Graves of Cos d'Estournel and the Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. Deep Ruby red color, with inky tones, blend of mostly Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, aged in French oak for 15 months, aromas of black and blue fruit, smoky notes and soft spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with toasty oak flavors, full body with fine tannins, long finish ending with earthy menthol mineral character. — 2 months ago

Azienda Agricola Brovia

Rocche di Castiglione Barolo Nebbiolo 2015

Happy 15th Birthday to our great son Nicanor! A special wine for a special occasion. Last year this time, we were staying within a stone's throw of Brovia in Castiglione Falletto. Next time, we will be sure to visit. I have no doubt that this wine is still young, yet already strong, multifaceted, and brilliant--on it's way to becoming a rock star!

Previous notes are ‘13: this ‘14 was excellent as well though noted heat, and a more traditional CA Zin flavor profile. Built for long haul w/impressive concentration & extraction- Won’t touch for at least 5 yrs or so + LONG decant — 3 years ago

Stone's Throw Block Chardonnay 2010

Tough to find a chard from Pritchard Hill (including this one now - replanted to cab) but after a decade fruit is still dominate with a subtle integrated oak finish. — 5 years ago

Château Haut-Beauséjour

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

St. Estèphe, literally a stone's throw from the more prestigious Paulliac region, while not topping its sister commune by any means certainly holds its own. Huge initial notes include cassis, black currant, and anise followed by some of the largest tannins I've tasted in a wine this young. Great wine from a lesser well-known commune. 💥 for 💵 — 7 years ago

Huge big beautiful lush - quality of fruit from this producer is always top notch. They bring it from CA, crush & vinify in WI. Fruit driven, huge red fruit and gentle spice. Full throttle w/sturdy tannins, this is still an infant. — 3 years ago

Stuhlmuller Vineyards

Estate Alexander Valley Chardonnay 2015

After selling grapes to a number of wineries, in the 90's Fritz Stuhlmuller decided to put the family's name on a label, to produce small lots of Chard & Cab. Located a stone's throw from Chalk Hill and the RRV. Aromas of fruit and toasty oak spice. On the palate pear, apple and hints of peach with citrus notes and nice round oaky tones. Medium+ finish ending with a creamy mineral edge. — 6 years ago
