Nice, but a little less dry, peppery than we prefer — 5 years ago
16.5+. Classico indeed, except that chianti wasn’t as good 30 years ago. The Sangiovese really comes through in a distinctive way in this wine. Great year, pity to drink it so young, but that’s what I could get at the Coop in Chianciano (good range, by the way - Caparzo, Altesino, ...). — 8 years ago

Normally Friday is Pizza and Pinot but tonight we decided to do this Chianti Classico from Borgo Scopeto from the lovely Elisabetta Gnudi. — 5 years ago

Smooth. Light. Good legs. — 8 years ago
A Sangiovese clone that I really like. Made by Caparzo. Lighter and more fruit forward than a chianti Classico. Black cherry and blackberry with a smooth finish. Enjoyable bottle of wine. — 9 years ago
Crisp, light with great mix of acidity and minerals. An interesting choice for white wine. — 10 years ago

The 2023 Caparzo Rosso is a gorgeous wine in all respects; eye catching, ruby red/garnet appearance; engaging red fruit aromatics and flavors; nicely balanced and structured with abundant fruit, (Bing Cherries) juicy acidity and soft refined tannins at the lovely satisfying finish. Who needs a full blown Brunello when this Rosso delivers so much pleasure at a fraction of the price. — a day ago
