Full bodied, soft on the palate, black berries and black current with hints of spice and chocolate. A new favorite! — 3 months ago
Dark purple with color to the rim. Big nose of plum and elderberry compote in an oak bowl. Echoed on the full-bodied palate supported by juicy medium acidity and non-threatening medium minus tannins. Surprisingly smooth despite the 15.2% alcohol. Probably the best thing Prisoner Wine Company makes. A burly California style Merlot with enough finesse for fine meals but still sippable (over time… again 15.2% 😏) enough for casual wine and cheese evenings. Drink now through 2028, but don't expect much development. — 10 months ago
The older, the better. A blackcurrant, pepper & vanilla. High acidity, maybe too high for me, but it's ok. — 2 months ago
Best Merlot I’ve had… slightly sweet but so smooth and good. — a year ago
