Wife and I cracked this bottle in honor of two friends that we lost yesterday. Strawberry, blood orange, and even light notes of cinnamon. Very good Pinot noir. Never disappointed with Duckhorn. Rest in peace Zach and Chris, hope you’re drinking all the good stuff up in heaven. — 2 months ago
Big, bold Beckstoffer Cab. Not as elegant as the 2014 but a serious wine for enjoyment. — 4 months ago
I’d say these wines are overrated. Second of the 2012’s I picked up. Dark fruit, supple but not that interesting. — 9 months ago
See previous Delectable notes. Light to medium crimson in colour - a tawny rim developing. Aromas of Sous Bois, compost heap and stewed fruits. As I said in a previous note “sinewy “. Savoury red fruits and earthy. Judd vineyard seems to be the pick of the individual Pinot Noir Cuvées at Ten Minutes by Tractor. — 2 months ago
The anticipation and patience displayed holding this for 10 years was amply rewarded. Clear, brick-ish color, tight nose that eventually opened to loads of red fruit, Burgundy like in its combination of lushness and reserve. Subtle and layered even after all these years. — 6 months ago
2014 vintage. Tasted six times in the last 3.5 years. Mostly a mix of 9.3-9.4 scores with most of the experiences decanted. This time, decanted as well, with the wine in a slight state of transition. Medium-heavy bod with appropriate sed. Great nose and frontal/mid palates, Slightly disjointed on the finish with different flavors working against each other vs together. Tasted after 30 mins and one hour open and thinking a bit more time could have helped. 8.21.24. — a month ago
The 1959 Latour is a vintage that I have drunk many times. It contains a payload of irresistible and quite precocious red fruit on the nose with blood orange, cedar and a touch of thyme, beautifully defined. The palate has exquisite balance, poised yet powerful, with a multi-dimensional, profound finish that is one of the smoothest-textured you will find on any Latour vintage. Absolutely divine. Tasted at Arbor restaurant in Hong Kong. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2024)
