I bought and drank a fair amount of Allegrini Palazzo Della Torre back in the late 1990s, and always enjoyed them. First time in the past 20 years, this seems a little softer and polished, a little lower ABV (13.5 vs. 14+ in earlier vintages), this is vinified using conventional fermentation as well as some ripasso fermentation (think Amarone drying grapes on straw mats), and has some very nice complexity and length, very nice!! — 2 months ago

A surprisingly serious & balanced Nero D’Avola-black fruited all the way. Plenty of casis & blackberries on palate. Quite concentrated but not overly so or too fruity-Apparently a portion of the grapes used are dried in the old style (& as in some Venetian wines). Not complex either but just delicious. Medium deep ruby garnet with reasonably wide garnet rim . Quite aromática with spiced dark cherry , wild strawberry , cacau touches , fresh herbs also . On the palate quite ripe cherry fruit , with quite refreshing acidity , slightly chewy tannins with a bitter touch on the ok finish . Drink now and over the next 3-5 years — 8 months ago
