Loved it. Too bed Jeff retired. — 8 months ago
Despite its age, this was fantastic. Part of a three year vertical. Looking forward to the ’05 and ‘06. Thanks to el Jefe. — a year ago
Love this wine every time. — 3 years ago
Somehow whenever I know that I am drinking a wine to young I see @David T scolding me! I do highly respect his insights and the plan was to wait three more years!
But the realization that I was going to need to sacrifice a bottle; that I can Hopefully replace came late this afternoon.
Most likely we are going to be saying goodbye to our hyperthyroidism kitty " Patience" tomorrow. It has been a long battle and she would have turned 15 July 31st. So some self medicating is warranted! 😓.
Although this wine is delicious even young! Ripe Bing Cherries...licorice...bubble gum..tea leaves and moist forest floor! Delicious wine! I will try to obtain another bottle and let it age longer! — 6 years ago
Dark fruit, slight effervescent sensation, aftertaste of bubble gum — 8 years ago
Still very dark for a 15 year old red. Smells like berry-plum sauce and leather. Bit of wet gravel and flint. Flavors are lovely and elevated. Black currants. A hint of cola nut. Licorice drops. This is quite an elegant and lovely red. Could age longer. Beefy but with a velvet glove. — 7 months ago
Rustic nose, with mushrooms, iron, red meat, slightly crunchy read fruit, rose florals and maybe even a hint of crisp red apple. Medium body, and a dark, deep ruby or rose color. Palate is zingy with hints of blood orange, high quality balsamic, honestly bubble gum or some sort of candied flavor, piñon wood, with dark chocolate (like cacao) and a little tar and burnt fennel at the finish. Whew, this is rich and fun, but not so high ABV or weight that it’s overwhelming. — a year ago
Suggested at Grand Cata on 11/29/2024 when I asked for Ribera sacra bzw. Galicia. $30. L noted Chambers had shipped same wine! Likely natural then, though lacking that liveliness. Drank 11/30/2024. Ash, bubble gum on nose. Puckett tannins will likely settle down with time and warmth. Black fruit, violets, gravel/slate. Long strong finish lingers. — 2 years ago

One of the choir members loves Viognier. Everybody loved this one. — 6 years ago
I think greenock wines are not my cup of tea. Classic note of soy sauce, a greenish note and bubble gum. I am sure some will like this style but just not me — 9 years ago
