100% Dolcetto. Bright ruby red color. Aromas and flavors of ripe strawberry and black cherry, plums, red and purple flowers as well as sweet spices. Earthy, spicy and nutty notes on the finish. Mouth watering acidity and very light (barely noticeable) tannins. Fruit forward, simple and basic. Solid. — 10 months ago
As far as white varieties from Piemonte are concerned, I tend to encounter Arneis more often than Favorita but this was a very welcome way to change things up! The 2019 “Valle dell’olmo”brings a fascinating nose of confected kiwi, orange pith, white pepper and some toe jam. The wine is dry with medium+ acid. Medium+ finish. Drinking really nice right now and can’t really see the purpose in aging it though it would likely hold easily for a few years. — a year ago
