This is what I imagine a good Toro would be: a rich and powerful rendition of Tempranillo. Blackberry, plum, licorice, fig, incense, espresso, and earth. Exuberant and dense on the palate but there is enough acidity to carry the weight. Gripping tannins.

Already drinking well, this gave forest floor in the nose, mushrooms, slightly drying tannins and spices on the palate paired with balanced acidity.

Combined with the mothers day dinner I cooked for my wife and son ❤️🍷

Wow! Lemon oil, floral, honeyed pear and green apple goodness on the palate. A lush, creamy mouthfeel but maintains a zesty acidity on the finish with a bit of petrol. Delicious!!! — 4 years ago

One bottle of rosé is never enough on a perfect afternoon with friends. And since @jolielaidewines went all Gamay on us this year, we gotta get with the program. Trademark deliciousness here, with silky berry and hibiscus and citrus peel plus a cool hint of floral sweetness in the finish. Grows in what can only be described as the OG Gamay vineyard planted by Steve Edmunds and Ron Mansfield at 3300’ of elevation in the Sierra Foothills. Been exploring a lot of younger Domaine Chevillon over this last year. But didn't write any notes. Doing that now. The 2017 Roncières is reliably wonderful. Bright florals, red fruit and delicate spice bouquet. Medium bodied, ample but focused fruit, with some acidity on the palate. Some might react that the fruit profile is a bit straightforward, but I think this lends this wine a lovely sort of simplicity and character on the palate is derived from fine grained tannins.
