Deep color, deep red fruits. Rich nose made of blackcurrant, blackberries, oak, tobacco, leather, earthy, herbs, toasted spices, slight notes of evolution. In the mouth it is supple, deep, and in line with the nose with a beautiful length. Perfect expression of an exceptional vintage.
Robe profonde, fruits rouges profonde. Nez riche cassis, mûres, chêne, tabac, cuir, terreux, aromates, épices toastées, légères notes d’évolution. En bouche c’est souple, profond, et conforme au nez avec une belle longueur. Parfaite expression d’un millésime d’exception. — 2 years ago
Cos d’Estournel tasting. Very interesting trying these at the same time. The 2000 and the 1990 were what I was expecting and great but the 2005-2009 were clearly more refined. WOTN for me. — 2 years ago
One of our favorite Napa cabs at this price. Excellent and so consistent in terms of quality and style. — 2 years ago
Medium deep ruby core , medium wide ruby garnet rim . Quite slow and fat tears. Quite exotic nose , slightly high toned, lots of ripe spicy blackcurrant , dark cherry , blackberry and underneath a grafite and earthy note , marine scents also . On the palate round, ripe and sweet dark fruits, blackcurrant , blackberry and dark cherry , touches of grafite and cigar box. Surprisingly good , even refreshing acidity , ripe ample tannins; there is great intensity here. Balanced alcohol even though it is quite decadent and rich, lots of glycerin . Very long and succulent but balanced finish with touches of mineral and tobacco. The plumpness and exoticism does come across as pretty atypical for Latour , though it is a real success for the vintage and an undeniably enjoyable wine. Drinking ok now , with a decant of an hour or two but really did improve over the 5 hours we had it open. Will obviously last and improve over the next 20 years and I’m sure go further still . — 2 years ago

Really liking this vintage. Already tasting pretty open and giving. Tastes like beaujolais and not syrah, plus it’s still good value when browsing Beaujolais shelves that seem to average in the $45-50 mark — 2 years ago
