I am not a big drinker of Chardonnay but I found one that I really enjoyed. 2013 Luli Chardonnay has a nice light aroma of pears, lemongrass and a touch of mineralogy. It drinks very nicely with a clean crisp finished and just enough acids to bring your mouth alive. It may become a regular in my glass. #Luliwines #centralcoast #santaluciahiglands — 11 years ago
One of my TOP TEN WINE EXPERIENCES OF 2014. Simply love this wine! Medium straw, light yellow color; dried apple and mineral in the nose, understated and persistent and eerily deductive; medium bodied; dry, medium acidity, well balanced; tart apple flavors, some slate; medium finish. An amazing dry chenin blanc made in a style unheard of in American winemaking circles. (Best Served: 2014-2017) (Tasted: August 25, 2014, San Francisco, CA) [Sourcing: Vineyard planted in the early 1980's on very sandy soils in the Foxen Canyon district] [Winemaking: Tank fermented, transferred to neutral wood for the winter, racked back to tank for a few months prior to bottlng] [Eric Railsback-Winemaker] #whitewine #cheninblanc #santaynezvalley #centralcoast — 11 years ago

This man has a beautiful touch: selecting surprising and non-native grapes in Californian climates that tend not to be generous to said varietals, and making them a delight to drink every single time! This 2015 blend of 57% #Mourvèdre, 34% #Grenache and 9% #Cinsault under the #LePtitPaysan label is a balanced, exciting and fun #CentralCoast #Rosé to accompany just about everything. — 10 years ago

Hmmm....interesting wine, ABV 15.4 - seems really high, first nose was mildew & dishwater, paired nicely with Turkey Pot Pie, not so crazy as a sipping wine. #alban #viognier #centralcoast #california #wine — 11 years ago
I liked this rich, smooth #morgan #santaluciahiglands #pinotnoir #2013.
Winemaker's Notes:
This special wine demonstrates the power and finesse of Pinot Noir from the Santa Lucia Highlands. It displays aromas of dried cherry, cola, spice and smoke. Flavors of cranberry and pomegranate are complemented by notes of almond skin and minerals. Perfectly poised fruit/acid balance make this incredibly food-versatile. It is a wonderful accompaniment to roast chicken and grilled salmon, as well as almost any duck, beef or lamb preparation. — 11 years ago
Well done Cali Vin Gris. Nose of rose petals and watermelon, and a nice spine of acid. My biggest complaint is the heat that hits you at the end. Just a little too much alcohol. #vingris #centralcoast #bonnydoon #summer — 11 years ago
I always like trying different blends and Paso Robles blend of primitivo, Syrah and Mourvèdre was certainly different. To me this is a chefs pantry. Lots of spices came to mind. Pepper, thyme and lightly smoked fennel. The fruits of the berries seemed washed though to me but you could still pick them out. This will not be one of those universal beloved wines but I did enjoy it. I would love to get with my chef friends and find a really good dish to go with this wine. If your adventurous try this one. #California #CentralCoast #PasoRobles #redblend #BrianBensonWinery — 8 years ago
Well, there it is: wine IN-A-CAN. I'm positive that multitude of wine people would jump in horror over this, but hey! why not?
If going for a picnic and you want to amuse your family, or maybe to shock your stiff friends at a grand-cru tasting 😜.
In any case this is an honest wine, new-worldly fruity, a tad alcoholic but nice. I'd serve it chilled maybe to avoid collapsing with the wall of alcohol, but again that's just me.

For bulk wine, good. Good enough to be the Chardonnay you have strapped by dumpsters in the alley outside of work, while others are on their cigarette break. I'd always gladly refer back to this Chard w/o to much worry about self-preservation.

I have been wanting to try this one for a while. slightly cooked blackberrys, black plums and anise with a hint of black pepper and thyme, and some clove, and white mushroom and savory black olive. Medium viscosity and body.
Medium Plus alcohol and noticeable medium tannins. Smoky yet smooth and delish.

The 2012 has a aromatic aroma that started off with lots of ripe fruits, rich cherries and spices were prevalent. The aromas extend into your mouth with dark cherries, pepper and spices and something that reminded me of cardamom. The tannins and acids are well balanced enhancing its smooth long finish. This is not a bland Pinot. #sanford #pinotnoir #santaritahills #centralcoast — 11 years ago

Enticing #centralcoast white blend of #chardonnay and #pinotblanc. Deep golden yellow in the glass, golden pear skin, apricot, and honey notes on the nose. Despite the dark color the use of oak is very subtle. Svelte acid / fruit / alcohol balance on the palate and the wine shines more as it warms up. Some caramel notes. Sumptuous mouthfeel - this is a sturdy-bodied white. — 5 years ago
