Aubert Vignobles

Aubert

Eastside Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2016

I like these a lot but no more holding. Lacking a bit of punch. I’m late on these. — 15 days ago

Yep, that’s my observation, Aubert and in general Napa chards beyond 7-8 years of age are flakey.

Aubert

UV-SL Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019

2019 vintage. Tasted 20 mins after opening. Medium heavy body. Some great complexities in the flavors along with an oppressive amount of concentration. Totally not my style for red Burg/Pinot but it apparently works for them and theirs. Deep Pinot In Rock. Hesher/heavy metal pinot. Let’s go space truckin c’mon. 9.1.24. — 3 months ago

Obviously, not as nuanced and textured as the single vineyard bottlings, but no complaints from us. Less amplification, but still possess the Aubert signature on the mid palate. Roasted pineapples and lychees caress the palate. Great balance and acidity. — 21 days ago

Nice, but I detect this this is on it’s downward swing. Roasted pineapple combines with lychees. soft acidity and baking spices complete a nice presentation. probably better 2 years prior. — a month ago

@John Van Trijp, yes, I was a little surprised, too. Having said that, I’ve had very few underperforming bottles from Aubert.

@LM Segal, in general, U.S. whites or reds rarely posses the longevity of their Burgundy counterparts. I have a number of old Cali whites which I will road-test for S and G’s.

Vignobles Lacheteau

Pouilly Fumé Sauvignon Blanc 2023

A very casual Sauvignon Blanc from the very upper and eastern side of the Loire River in France. A more flinty and brighter acidity to its neighbor Sancerre (across the river to the west).
Some Quincy notes and taste as well. The citrusy is not over the top. Easy to drink!

Aubert

Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay 2014

A beautiful, refined, bright, creamy wine. Tasting honeydew, white peach, butter, cashew, oak, and a hint of honey. Just what I would expect from Aubert (my favorite Chardonnays). — a month ago
