This was singing last night. Nice nose of mature cherries and spice box. Mid palate displays density and weight. Packed with ripe cherries and a hint of tobacco, complemented with a moderate tannin structure. Oak treatment was in the background. Finished with length and a hint of soft brown sugar. Acidity is still prominent so I assume you could continue to hold this for another 7 years with ease. — 4 months ago
An absolutely stunning wine now entering its drinking window! This is my all-time favorite producer. Extremely floral and elegant on the nose with rose, iris, Mediterranean herbs, fresh mint, balsamic, cedar spice, and loads of red fruit. I could smell this wine forever. The pallet confirms the red fruit notes on the nose with cherries, strawberries, raspberries, slightly dried, with impeccable balance of tannin and acidity. The mouthfeel is incredible. Luscious, but structured. The finish goes on for minutes. — a month ago
Superb with our Margarita Pizza. Big Cherry aromas with the slightest tawny tinge as I poured. Bold flavors with a long finish. Two bottles left! — 4 months ago
This is a very elegant style of Brunello. Nose has sultry macerated dark cherry, terra cotta tile earthiness, some gorgeous sweet spice notes. In the mouth it’s soft, medium-full, and has some nice complexity. Notes of earthy gravel and porcini mushroom to go along with the rich fruit. Tannins are soft but still provide a nice tactile reference point. Acids are soft. Lengthy finish. — 3 months ago
At Coci Northpark San Diego. The wine. Food excellent. Very very difficult to evaluate. I think they used too much oak on this. Ridiculous big and tannic even after 12 years. And after 90 minutes. I tough it is corked at first and even at 60min. Tobacco, cigar box. Touch cherry hint of prune plum. And better with a t-bone than with the light Italian food.I think they really overdid it to please - May be Robert Parker - at the time? Give it at least 2 hours to breathe before serving!!!! — 4 months ago

bit shy, needed some time in the decanter - translucent ruby colored, lots of violets and spice, sour cherry and bing cherry, rhubarb, tar, sweet soil, really complex on nose, med weight w/firm tannic grip, flavors from nose on mid palate, nice finish. paired with smoked ribs and it really worked - Father's day treat. i have another of these, believe this is in the pocket right now. *more Barbaresco than Brunello — 5 days ago
