Night 2 notes. The oaky notes from being first opened on night one are gone. It’s a little softer, higher in acid, and less intense than other vintages I’ve had. Nose has bright, ripe red berries, some brambly notes, and irony earth. On the palate there’s nice intensity on entry, but it flattens out a bit in the finish. I’d say this is for earlier drinking than the typical Storybooks I’m used to. — 5 days ago

Great Grenache from France. Rhône style red that comes through. The grape is the queen in this wine. Soft but with true flavor of the varietal. Blend of old and new vintage. Glad that I bought this. I am having it with an excellent vegetarian pizza and is wonderful. — 4 years ago

From Hawke’s Bay! A gem of a north island region I taste so many winners from. The nose is reductive struck match with sea spray and lemon rind. The palate is enviably smooth and crisp as I wish my sheets to be. Oak lily’s with vanilla bean joining tart lemon curd and honeydew.
