Bodegas Avelino Vegas

Domaine des Comtes Lafon

Volnay Santenots-du-Milieu 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2011

Pop and pour. A medium ruby red color. On the nose: floral, forest floor, cherry, herbs, and caramel vanilla. Taste: white pepper, strawberry/raspberry, with a smokey floral medium plus finish framed by medium acidity. Tannins starting to resolve...give this medium body wine a few more years.

This pinot going great with the Imperial Peking Duck tasting menu at this once Michelin starred restaurant (1st Chinese restaurant in north America to earn one).

Smaragd Honivogl Grüner Veltliner 2013

Candied lemons with a touch of melons and honey. Just off dry enough to pair perfectly with the Thai crispy duck at Lamaii - my new favorite off strip spot in Vegas. Amazing Thai food with a very fairly priced wine list. — 6 years ago
