Last time i took out the purple cowboy was a lot different but it was great to enjoy this one and not need a new sofa. — 3 years ago
Finally cracking this open. Got it as a Christmas gift from my boss. Really good! It’s going very well with the homemade tofu katsu 🙂 — 5 years ago
Held up beautifully. None of the raisiny character I’d expect from a Zin this old. Pedroncelli does some great things with Zinfandel. — 6 years ago
Established in 1987, DD Oregon is owned by famed Burgundy producer, Maison Joseph Drouhin. Hand-crafted by fourth generation winemaker, Veronique Drouhin-Boss. Ruby with fruit and sweet floral scents, very French in style. On the palate cherry and blueberry with pepper and earthy notes. Young but integrated tannins, well defined, elegant with underlying richness, long finish.

Saw 3 of these in the boss' cellar tonight and thought I would give it another try. My impressions of it were pretty darn good a year ago, and OH MAMA they're even better this year. This wine is NOT over the hill. If it's over the hill, it wasn't stored correctly. This wine was DELICIOUS. Ran the table tonight and we pretty much stopped opening wines and opened up all 3 of these from the cellar. Dark black fruit, grilled meat, smoky characteristics up front. This wine is JAM PACKED with a flinty middle and finish. Tannin had completely resolved, therefore I don't believe there is any more than 3-4 years left in this wine. First bottle drank incredibly well over a two-hour period. Finished with a flinty blackberry and cocoa. I have zero of these left in my personal collection! — 9 years ago
Drank with Thanksgiving dinner at Marks. Fruitier end of Oregon Pinot, but really good with the meal. Mark smoked the turkey after lathering it in mayo. A trick he learned from a local BBQ pit boss. First time the white meat has ever been better (juicy and tender) than the dark). — 7 months ago

Color : White
Wine estate : Domaine Louis Bovard
Designation : Saint-Saphorin
Name : Salix Chenin Blanc
Country : Switzerland
Vivino : 4.5/5
Note : Louis Bovard remains the boss in the Vaudoise region with this magnificent Salix. A pale yellow color, a mineral nose with a touch of citrus. On the palate, happiness, joy and wonder. More seriously, a nice roundness with salty and fruity notes. Just magic!

Juste magique !

There’s nothing like the excitement of head to head competition. Unfortunately, that excitement ends quickly when one of the participants has to withdraw. The 2013 was extremely advanced with a heavy petrol nose. The 2014 on the other hand was a great example of what this wine should be. A clean nose of grapefruit and grass but not in that overbearing way that can be the case with SB. Once in the mouth SB steps aside and the Semillon becomes the “boss”. Apricot and pears pop up and the initial dose of mouth watering acidity gives way to a wonderful roundness that allows for a long finish. — 2 years ago
Minerally and dry, but with hints of citrus and a lovely clean finish. Sent as a gift from my boss, and delicious. Stored well in the fridge too. — 5 years ago
Just a sample from a very friendly store in Leavenworth. But it was very smooth and not at all juicy. A session red! — 6 years ago
Lilacs and berries, fresh altitude air, and of course, allergy meds that allow this aroma to come through.
Deep black berry, prune, smoke, graphite. The elegance of this heavy handed beauty is astonishing. Smooth across the tongue, with a bit of raspy tannins that come out and let the acidity know who’s the boss. Highly enjoyable. — 7 years ago
Wonderful Cab Sav, Franc, Merlot blend with exquisite full flavor. Gift from my new boss, one of her favorites. — 8 years ago
So good. This Rosé is how I channel Rick Ross. Underripe strawberry and sour cherry flavors. Didn't get much on aroma. Dry and acidic for the summer party, sweeping the deck, club banger, or back alley with my black bottle boys. Rich forever. Forever compassionate. Don't call it medicinal, but you may be tempted. Boss. — 9 years ago
