Burgundy Gamay

Louis Jadot

Beaujolais-Villages Gamay 2024

Light bodied red… strawberry notes especially on the nose. Some spice notes. Very decent bottle from Publix, think I’m enjoying this vintage more than last years. — 6 days ago

Domaine Ponsot

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2007

One of the best CDLR’s in the biz showing beautifully tonight with an ultra complex and seductive bouquet of candied red cherries, rose petals, coffee beans and game meat. The palate is luxuriously silky with obvious grand cru and old vine concentration, particularly for the vintage, and there is beautiful purity and elegance to balance its power. Its spice and mineral inflicted finale just keeps on going. 07 Burgundy are in such a great spot. — 3 days ago

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC)

Richebourg Pinot Noir 2009

While not showing its best, it’s always a special and humbling experience to drink DRC! A little advanced, but still showing complex stemmy aromatics with cola and Asian spices. Great with the dry-aged duck but not necessarily memorable on its own outside the label. — 18 days ago

Excellent! Smooth and polished. Super long and showing more maturity than I was expecting. All the classic notes in a superb showing. — 3 days ago

Bonneau du Martray

Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru Chardonnay 2006

Pop and pour. A majestic lite gold color. On the nose: crisp apples, lemon, almonds, floral, and honey. Taste: creamy, beautiful texture and nice acidity wine with apple, pear, lemon zest, saline, flint, and a minerally lime peel medium plus finish. YUM! Maturing gracefully and time to go. — 2 days ago

Good for 13 slightly advanced and custardy but didn’t feel like it was a fully pre-moxed wine. — 9 days ago
