Ethan champagne - April 2018 — 3 months ago
Again it’s a champagne from Cédric Moussé, one of the Masters of Meunier. He’s almost single-handedly put Cuisles on the wine map. The L’Or D’Eugéne is a perfect introduction to his style.
Medium gold with fast paced perlage and an attractive bouquet. Black cherries and pretty flowers combine with chalk and herbs. In the mouth, it’s racy and vivacious. Sexy and a bit thrilling with zippy acidity. 80/20 Pinot Meunier/Pinot Noir from a perpetual reserve with an Extra Brut dosage of 2 g/l.
I’ve always wanted to drink this over a few days. To really let it breathe and mature in the glass. To really let it set and enjoy it over time. But I can’t. It’s just too damn good. — a year ago
In my opinion, few producers can match the gracefulness and sheer excitement of Cédric Moussé. His rosé is no exception. Sexy and seductive, there’s a reason I drink this so often.
Stunning in the glass with a saignée style coloring. The nose features strawberries and cherries with blue fruits and earth.
Primarily Pinot Meunier with a splash of Pinot Noir. Composed of not one but two perpetual reserves which gives the champagne that impeccable sleekness and character.
The fruit explodes in your mouth. It’s just so damn good. You really should sit with it and take it all in because it’s such a well made wine but you just can’t. It’s gone in a flash. Every single time. And that’s when you open another bottle. — a year ago

Cedric Bouchard makes some of the most singular, vinous and terroir expressive wines in Champagne which is even taken to the next level in his prized and ultra rare cuvée, La Bolorée. 2015 was a particularly great vintage for Bouchard and every cuvée I’ve tried has been fantastic. La Bolorée, 100% Pinot Blanc from 50+ year-old vines on limestone soils, is powerful, detailed and multidimensional showing layer upon layer of rich orchard fruit, white flowers and salty minerals. Just my 4th time having this bottling, but it is always a special drinking experience. We did not decant, but drank from Zalto Burgundy which somehow didn’t break on a boat 😅
