Bright Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, spices, oak and smoky tobacco notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with notes of pepper, tobacco, cedar and vanilla. Made from Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada grapes, bright pale gold with a frothy creamy mousse, small plentiful bubbles with a steady stream. Aromas of apple and citrus with toasty notes. For $11.50 per bottle, this Cava punches way above its price. Nice bubbles, slightly sweet, no off flavors. It doesn’t compare with Champagne but it’s not really trying to be Champagne. And it is better than many other Cavas I have had. — a month ago
