Basic label. Smells like cherry coke and wood oil. Flavors are complex and chewy. Cherry cola in flavors. Licorice too. Age-d. — 8 months ago
This wine screams right bank Bordeaux supported by a blend of 55% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. A dark Ruby red in colour this has a lovely perfume with aromas of plum, cigar box, dried bracken and roses, tobacco and spice. Cinnamon and nutmeg from the oak. 70% of the French Oak barrels were new. Medium plus bodied. The tannins are there but lessening in impact. 14.5% ABV. This wine was #2 in the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 of 2013. A near neighbour of the aristocratic Chateau Ausone. — 16 days ago

Blend of Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (15%), Cabernet Sauvignon (14%) and Malbec (1%). Medium ruby core that turns more garnet closer to the rim. Aromas of ripe red and black fruit with hints of tar and roasted coffee. Flavors of red cherry, raspberry, black currant, figs, and mocha. Just a touch of baking spices on the long finish. Satiny texture and very fine tannins. Medium bodied and very soft. Good example of where proper aging can benefit a wine. Solid. Thanks for sharing, Chris B. — 5 months ago

Enjoyed this at La Voile in Boston with a ribeye. Very easy drinking. Medium light bodied. Dark fruit, fine smooth tannins. Great value. — 4 months ago
2009 vintage. Drinking just in time. Still lots of spicey black fruits. Cedar and old tobacco. Cacao notes also. — 8 months ago
