Chateau dates back to 13th century, originally used as fortress. 1st known owner was Sieur Raymond Peyraguey, purchasing the property in 1618. In January 2014, Silvio Denz purchased Chateau from GDF Suez. Balanced and fruity, this ripe, sweet wine delivers both botrytis-like character and generous fruit. It has fine acidity to cut through the richness, giving intense sweetness. Drinks well. Bottle age will benefit. — 6 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed after dinner. The 2003 pours a beautiful amber color with and transparent core; medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of honey, dried apricots, marmalade, marzipan, and candied nuts. On the palate, the wine is sweet with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose along with some tropical fruits: passion fruit and pineapple. The finish is long and decadent. Unctuous and a lovely way to capstone a meal.
