This Lalande de Pomerol is made by the Bielle family at Domaine de Viaud, not to be confounded with Chinese-owned Château de Viaud. Brut(es) is a 100% Merlot wine, vinified in amphoras only. Organic farming and no additives except 20 mg/l of sulfites which makes it officially fit in the new "natural wine" category. It's a delicious fruit bomb. Blackberry fields forever. Ripe tannin, juicy and intense. Good length too. No vintage mentioned on the label, lot number says L19L1, I suppose it means 2019 vintage. Abv. 135%. — 6 years ago

Wines, named after her children - Luca, Dante & Nicola - background of the label is the McDermott coat of arms of her American husband, Daniel McDermott. Single-vineyard wine from land belonging to the Laborde family. Deep red with big ripe fruits & smoky oak. Palate plum & jammy blackberry, spicier than ‘13, with nice earthy character. Tannins are a bit rustic, lingering ending with toasty oak & spice. Very nice. — 7 years ago
