I don’t usually describe a red as refreshing but this is very refreshing. Though its alcohol content is 14% it does not taste like it. It leaves a bit of a peppery finish on the tongue but goes down very smooth. This is the first Moroccan wine I’ve had (I think)! Syrah, Grenache Noir, Tempranillo blend. — 2 months ago

Cute flower tall bottle. Color is pure pink. True rosé. Smells like mineral water infused with berry essence. Flavors are juicy and bright. Faint strawberry, melon side, slight citrus. And grapes. Hint of grape juice without sugars. This is dope rosé. Good for all day or that special day. Nice pairing with taco salads. — 2 years ago

The wine of this evening is the 2018 Bernard Magrez Le Prelat Laudun Côtes du Rhône Villages. This wine is from Bernard Magrez owner of 4 Grand Cru Classés most notably Chateau Pape Clement and is a blend of 52% Grenache, 41% Syrah, 4% Carignan and 3% Mourvedre.

On the nose this has black cherry, strawberry, raspberry, eucalyptus, clove, smokey oak, black pepper, anise and cinnamon.

On the palate there is bmack cherry, strawberry, raspberry, mint, cinnamon, smokey oak, black pepper, star anise and herbs.

This is a medium + to full bodied wine with medium + acidity and medium + fine polished tannins that leads you to a long vlack cherry smokey oak finish. First taste!? Mature with a bit of bricking but still nice solid color and bouquet of mature red fruits and earth. Velvety and enticing on palate. Excellent with Evan’s Shanghainese pork belly. 51/43/4/2 Merlot/Cab/CabFranc/Petit Verdot on label from Bernard Magrez touting same attention as his Pape Clement, and long history dating back to 1120. Importer label says 37/55/6/2 instead! (Oldest in Medoc, 1400 by house of Foix loyal to King of England. 1486 Camet new owner. 1500s by Michel de Montaigne.) — 4 months ago

Perfectly ripe black and red fruit. Grippy tannins, but still gives a nice mouthfeel. Not a lot of complexity. Great wine that has a lot of life left. Really enjoyable but hard to see how RP gave it a 100. — 8 months ago

Dark, glass-clinging purple with opaque black core. Abundant, blue-fruity nose. Echoed on the lush, full palate which adds red apple peel, blackberry, and bitter black plum. Medium acidity. Velvety medium tannins. Very nice, everyday St. Emilion. Food is, of course, naturally its friend. Drink now through 2030. — 10 months ago
