Wow, flavor bomb 💥 intense and complex. Tobacco, mocha, cedar, graphite, and dirt around a nice core of sweet and charred dark fruit, cassis, plum, and blackberry. Soft, round, and long. Yum!
Drank really well after a splash decant, faded a tad after a few hours. — 3 years ago
2007 vintage. A 100% Tannat made by a Bordeaux producer (Philippe Courrian also owns Chateau La Tour Haut Caussan) in the Languedoc ( Corbières). Sounds interesting, and it is very good indeed. A little bit animal-like at first, give it some time to breathe in order to discover a panoply of dried herbs, spices and dried black fruits. Rustic, powerful and tannic, still very much alive. Long dry finish. Might not be for everyone, but it has a lot of personality. Try with a wild boar stew. Abv. 14%. Production about 2000 bottles. — 4 years ago

First taste!? Mature with a bit of bricking but still nice solid color and bouquet of mature red fruits and earth. Velvety and enticing on palate. Excellent with Evan’s Shanghainese pork belly. 51/43/4/2 Merlot/Cab/CabFranc/Petit Verdot on label from Bernard Magrez touting same attention as his Pape Clement, and long history dating back to 1120. Importer label says 37/55/6/2 instead! (Oldest in Medoc, 1400 by house of Foix loyal to King of England. 1486 Camet new owner. 1500s by Michel de Montaigne.) — 2 months ago
