Delicious. Not as good after a day, drink it all the day itβs opened. β 7 months ago
Smooth, bold pinot. Well priced. β 5 years ago
And now to South Africa! Where they produce some awesome en es for decent prices. The Pinotage was created there. A crossing between Pinot Noir and Cinsault (which was called Hermitage in its olden days). It tastes like a Pinot Noir on steroids. But, when Kanonkop gets its hands on it they lift it up to a sensational experience. Vibrant, intense and layered with flavors. Their black label is their cream of the crop sourced from old vines. β 2 months ago
Bought this as an afterthought and quite pleased that I did. It's complex and rich, with blackcurrant/plum fruit, cedary oak and soft tannins all on the same page. Great value. β 4 years ago

2023 vintage. Medium body. Dark fruit mated with grip. Good balance with a modicum of richness at the start. Resto cost $15 a bottle on 3 cases. This is easily the most ridiculous, cheap chicken, Napa Cab offer I've come across in a decade. Word in the barrel room is that this is declassified juice from a major Cabernet player/participant that can't be tied into this effort. Tasted their Sauvignon Blanc (and I intently dislike SB) as well and it rocked for a similar price. Approx 5k cases of this Cab made so you might actually come across it. if you do, grab a case. 03.21.25. β 5 months ago
First thing: much earthier than I anticipated. Donβt get me wrong, thereβs plenty of ripe fruit: lemon π, pineapple π, and apricot π. But before the fruit, thereβs smoky minerality π¨ and dried thyme π± followed by hazelnut. π°

Medium ruby color. Aromas of cherry, cranberry and rose petals. Very good Pinot overall, red fruit on the palate, baking spice and black tea.
