Deep bright yellow gold (barrel fermented?). Initially shy but inviting nose of dried apple and white pepper. Spicy medium palate confirms the palate as well as the barrel fermentation(!), adding a bit of orange candy once it opens up (still dry, tho). Moderate finish typical of the style. Gott say I thought I'd be disappointed or at least underwhelmed by this wine. Not at all. This is a really nice dry expression of the variety that's got more complexity than expected. Open in the bottle for 30 minutes. Dark purple color. Nose contains oak, vanilla, and subtle spice. Wine reminds me of those we had in Mallorca but with a better, velvety texture. Paired perfectly with the Chateaubriand! Was so great we made a reservation for Thursday night! Medium finish. Great QPR and local recommendation by the restaurant staff! Atmosphere and scenery definitely influenced the overall experience, but that’s how it’s supposed to be!! — 4 years ago
