Light garnet color with a dark ruby core., Aromas of ripe black fruit, asphalt and fresh herbs. Flavors of blackberries, black plums, black tea, black pepper and dark figs. Touch of mint on the medium-plus finish. Firm chalky tannins and nicely balanced acidity. Complex, elegant and flavorful. Thanks for opening, Chris B! — 6 months ago

Wow! Think I paid a tenner for this and tastes treble the price. For a none indigenous variety it’s totally at home; savoury, balanced, loads of cherries, firm acidity. Great at the price! — 6 years ago

Gambero Rosso Tre bicchieri l 🇮🇹 trade tasting, nose of sweet lemon flower but not sweet — 4 months ago
Nice nose of pear, caramel, a bit of a salty, bring thing too. The palate is showing a light acid drive, some nice peary and caramel notes. It leaves a layer on the tongue that carries on for a while in the end and turns into a tiny salty note. Really good pour! — 6 months ago
Cranberry and tart cherry with smoke, peppery spice and pronounced minerality. Long finish to extend the fantastic experience. This wine should be a nice complement with a wide variety of foods including seafood. — 9 months ago
For a white wine (not typically my bag) it's fantastic. Buttery in the mouth, tropically fruity on the nose. — 4 years ago
Super smooth and a creamy buttery feel@on the tongue We had lamb and grouper and this bridged the gap wonderfully. — 6 months ago
Mount Etna, such a trendy region right now…
Lifted red fruit, sour cherry, wild herbs, and ash drift effortlessly, carried by tension and mineral snap rather than weight. Light bodied but with a decent backbone. It energetic, and somewhat complex.
It does taste of altitude, lava stone, and restraint. Exciting wine, so different than the established norm.

Blackberry, plum, elegantly earthy slightly spicy nose. Great acidity up front to offset that rich fruit, distinctly #sicilianerosso graceful fruit and refined tannins to finish. One mark of a fine wine is imprinting a terroir onto an international varietal like #merlot — 2 years ago
First of the Sicilian entries, less popular than the Tancredi afterward though excellent pairing with Greek chicken/salad…more the traditionally Mediterranean earth though far more elegantly done — 4 years ago
