Mariano’s Garcias crown jewel, he was the front man at Vega Sicilia for three decades. He then founded Aalto with the vision of creating the highest quality RdD which you didn’t have to wait fifteen years to enjoy. Many think he’s done it! I pretty much agree. — 7 months ago

Yang Yang ! Toasted Bitter almonds, hazelnuts, caramels, bitter dark chocolate, cedar but also mineral salty and flowers. Border line brandy that will please bourbons and whiskies drinkers alike…. Complex and fascinating ! Served chill and make sure no one bothers you for a while … A treat for serious #gozones … If you happen to smoke premium cigars, this is next level! — 5 years ago

Fortified to 20°. N:Shoe leather, salt, treacle, ripe fruits, plantains, caramel lozenges, distant boats.faint barrel smoke.
P: old oranges, marmalade, puckering citrus, rinds, brown sugar, ( Demerara), so acidic and contrapuntally rich.

Upon opening and initial pour, this is severe in its dryness and austerity. Brings to mind ( well, my warped mind), very pale tanned blonde leather upholstery,Saddle leather.,Baguettes. With the sea and salt marsh hanging back. Let it sit and air for a bit while I prepared chicken breasts salmoriglio with lots of lemon, come back and it sings with matching acidity and on the finish, an interesting broad dried orange peel that is perfectly there.
A weirdo let’s make Manzanilla with no fortification by Navazos and Niepoort. Rewards aging. Definitely a “table wine” for Sherry freaks. I count myself one.
