2023 vintage. ‘23’s here already. This CDP blanc checking in at less than half the going rate for many CDP blancs and over-delivering. Slightly oily and vibrant, stone fruit nose mixed with minerals. Such a nice change of pace just in time. Vote for Summer. 6.19.24. — 10 months ago
Lovely rose! Balanced, hefty, subtle fruit, not overtly sweet. Great with food. — 6 years ago
I like this. Bold nose, some green character. Really approachable, big body, substantial length and a clean acidic finish. I’m surprised by the other Delectable raters negging on this so much. Maybe it’s the age? This has some years. Bought for a deal at Drinxx in The Hague. — 7 years ago
Domaine Barville Brotte Expression Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2023, France
Pale lemon in color.
Strong nose and medium in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with limes, lemons, grapefruits, sweet apples, spices, herbs and earth.
Spicy finish with herbs and fresh black pepper.
A good quality wine that is not bitter nor tart. Nicely balanced and spicy. Showing mild complexity and a buttery mouthfeel.
Good by itself and better when properly chilled.
100% Clairette grapes were aged in 50% French Oak barrels and 50% clay Amphora. A tiny production of only 1,300 bottles.
13.5% alcohol by volume.

Brotte Barville La Fiole Vintage Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2010, France
#AgedWineTuesday
Pretty color of light ruby with a light brick rim.
On the nose prunes, raisins and fresh red berries.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with red cherries, currants, light wood, spices, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, light earth and peppercorn.
This 15-year-old red blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape feels very young, especially right out of the bottle, with lots of acidity to carry it much further. Complex and interesting. Elegant and rich.
An interesting wine with port-like aromas on the nose and feels very fresh on the palate.
Still young and needs a few hours to open up properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
Delicious by itself as a sipping wine and good with food too.
A blend of mostly Grenache with Mourvedre, Syrah, Cinsault and 4 other local Varietals. Aged in French oak barrels for 10 years. A tiny production of only 900 bottles made.
15% alcohol by volume.

This is actually the "Secret" limited release, not the Domaine. Took awhile to open but did very well. Aged in barrels 18 months, whereas Domaine is 12 and Optimum was 24. — 8 years ago
