Domaine Blain Gagnard

Domaine Blain Soeur & Frère

Les Jumeaux Côte de Brouilly Gamay

Vibrant Dark red fruits on nose, dark black/red tints; on palate elegant & smooth mouthfeel, with the black currants, cassis, & crushed dark red cherries all prominent. If I’m reading the previous notes properly this vintage appears to be heftier than others— no lightweight by any means. Delicious, with the asterisk of this lies on the refined side of Beaujolais making. Alcohol 13.5% — 3 days ago

Just cannot find this producer in the last 20 years in San Diego when I used to carry 2-3 diff Chassagnes from JNG. Grrr!!!

La Boudriotte Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2020

2024/8/10. I suppose the awesome meal may have affected my judgement, but this seemed like what you hope for in a Chassagne 1er - not overly effusive, but broad, savory, earthy, a good balance of fruit, mineral and toast — 7 months ago

Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Chardonnay 2010

9-Liter! So powerful, it’s fresh, slight apple caramel tart with a touch of cinnamon. Pear (just ripe) brioche. Beautiful structure, so long, palate just stunning. Exceptional, — 2 months ago

Tart cherry fruit. These reds from Chassange Montrachet are always softer to me. My wife got this from a cool little wine shop in Franklin Michigan. Thanks tangerine wine for the suggestion and my wife for taking the suggestion. — 4 months ago

Never had the reds but haven’t seen Jean Noël Gagnard in over two decades in San Diego County, CA. Whites were always super-fleshy.
