2014 vintage. No wood ageing ( like their cousins at Château Gilette, Sauternes). Mainly Sémillon, with a bit of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. The pale golden colour still looks very fresh. Delicate and refined. Pineapple, roasted pecan nuts and lime. Like the 2014 Sauternes vintage, there is a nice acidity that balances the sweetness. Good almond length. Abv. 12,5%. Bought 2016 per Pedro at Grand Cata $25 on 2/24/19. He said it would be heavier and exhibit more structure than some others in stock - and to let breathe for thirty minutes. Pretty bright red, no meniscus. Weak bouquet but surprisingly nice balance– good light acid, gentle tannins, red fruit, some flinty mineral. Juicy and full of bright red fruit, much like a southern Burgundy. Higher alchohol? — 8 years ago
